Joachim Low has expressed confidence in Germany’s squad heading into the World Cup, and pays respect to Jurgen Klinsmann.
Germany are one of the pre-tournament favourites for this summer’s tournament in Brazil, and their Coach has backed such suggestions, despite losing Marco Reus to injury.
“We are anxious, we are all looking forward to playing this event in a country of symbols for football,” Low has told reporters this week.

Germany are one of the pre-tournament favourites for this summer’s tournament in Brazil, and their Coach has backed such suggestions, despite losing Marco Reus to injury.
“We are anxious, we are all looking forward to playing this event in a country of symbols for football,” Low has told reporters this week.
“It is a privilege that happens to few players and Coaches. I know what my guys are capable of, I know of our chances of winning this event and we want to finish this tournament with the title of champions.
“Regarding the group that I have available to me, it reflects the characteristics of our football.
“Whilst we have increased the creativity and imagination, we have not given up the dogmas of German football, such as tactical organisation, competitiveness and concentration.”
Low worked for two years with Die Mannschaft as assistant Coach to Jurgen Klinsmann, before succeeding him on the bench after the 2006 World Cup.
The duo will come face to face competitively in the third round of Group G fixtures at this year’s tournament, with Klinsmann now leading the United States’ national team.
“I respect him a lot, he is a Coach of extraordinary qualities. We already met during last summer [in a friendly], but it is clear that this time there will be many different factors, given the stakes.
“Jurgen is a professional and prepares everything to perfection. I do have something still to learn from him.”
Germany, who arrived in Brazil on Sunday, face the USA, Portugal and Ghana in Group G.
