There are reports Ciro Immobile agreed a two-year contract with Besiktas, but Lazio President Claudio Lotito insists ‘we have not received any offer.’

It is absolutely no secret that Immobile is no longer particularly happy at the Stadio Olimpico after a section of the fans turned on him over the past year.

Tuttomercatoweb suggest he is ready to try a new experience in Turkey, as Besiktas have proposed a two-year contract worth a total €12m net salary.

However, the club wants him to leave as a free agent, whereas Lazio are demanding at least €5m to release their captain.

Lotito denies receiving Immobile offer

“You are telling me about this offer, I don’t know about it,” Lotito told reporters last night.

“It’s like someone telling me he’s getting married, but he doesn’t know who his wife will be. My club has not received any offer. Immobile is a Lazio player, he has a contract with Lazio.

“If the club receives an offer to buy him, then it will be evaluated, but so far we have not heard anything.”

There was a sign that perhaps something is happening because Lazio are starting pre-season preparations with players getting their medical tests, but Immobile was not among them.

The centre-forward is 34 years old and first joined Lazio in the summer of 2016 from Sevilla.

His current contract with the Biancocelesti runs to June 2026.
