Mirabelli is set to be appointed Milan’s new sporting director, having previously served as Inter’s chief scout, and De Boer confessed he would have preferred to see the former Southampton man stay, even if he “isn’t worried”.
“It’s not nice to see good figures leave for competing clubs, but I’m not worried: our group of scouts are great,” the Coach told a Press conference.
Turning his attentions to Inter’s Europa League opener against Hapoel Be’er Sheva on Thursday, De Boer began by discussing Mauro Icardi’s credentials as a leader after his match-winning display at Pescara over the weekend.
“To me, it’s important to have players like Mauro, but everyone must be valued,” he added.
“Handanovic, for example, was decisive on Sunday evening. Icardi must show in every match that he’s strong, both in the game and during training.
“I won’t speak about those who’ll play, I’ve yet to inform the players.
“We played well at times, but it’s not a question of a single area. The entire team and both phases of the game, construction and destruction, count.”
