Maxi Lopez has insisted that Chievo are capable of competing with the likes of Roma this season, just as they can against smaller sides.
The Flying Donkeys’ key objective for another Serie A season is to avoid relegation, but their Argentine striker believes they have a greater potential, which they must show in Week 7’s trip to the Giallorossi.
“To put fear in Roma we have to play at the Olimpico like we did at Milan and Napoli,” Lopez has told the Corriere dello Sport.

“We have potential and we need to draw it out come the weekend. We can do well not only against the smaller sides, but also with those who fight for the Scudetto.
“The victory at the San Paolo was not a one-off, we have the cards to be able to have a peaceful season. The players are strong and we are a tight group.
“Roma are one of the most in-form teams in the League, perhaps the one that expresses the best game. We expect a tough battle and to take something away at some point we will have to do something.
“I have the potential to reach double figures in goals. “
“Juventus-Roma? Mistakes can happen, Pallotta has done well to throw water on the fire and Juve remain the strongest, beyond the controversy.”
