Fabio Liverani warned Genoa fans “the golden days of Diego Milito are gone,” but Ricardo Centurion is on their radar.
The Grifone lost their Serie A opener 2-0 to Inter without getting a single shot on target.
“The golden days of Diego Milito or Thiago Motta at Genoa are gone,” Liverani told TeleNord.
“All the new arrivals have to be rigorously young, motivated and available at a low price. Centurion could suit our needs, yes.”
Centurion is a 20-year-old left-sided midfielder currently playing for Racing Club Avellaneda. The Argentine is due to arrive on loan for €700,000 with an option to buy at the end of the season for €4m.
“We are still missing a few elements to complete the squad. For now we have tried a 4-3-3, but that isn’t our only option. I also have in mind the 3-5-2 and the 3-5-1-1.
“We have been working together for almost two months and are not running smoothly yet, but we held out well for 70 minutes at San Siro.”
