Marcello Lippi shrugged off reports he’ll become technical director at Milan, insisting he’s after “an ambitious national team.”
The former Italy and Guangzhou Evergrande Coach is looking for a new chapter in his career and was linked with a job behind the scenes at San Siro.
“I don’t think that in my future I’ll be Coach of another club. In fact, I can rule that out completely,” Lippi told Radio Deejay.

“Milan? No, I’ve got nothing on that. I could consider the role of technical director if someone proposed it to me, but as of today I’ve had no contact with anyone.
“I would like to work with an ambitious national team. Meanwhile, I’ll enjoy this summer without a contract, get some rest and then return fired up.
“In September-October I will evaluate the proposals and then decide with the utmost calm.”
