Ranieri has been linked with the Azzurri job after Antonio Conte announced yesterday that he would leave the post after Euro 2016.

The Times has reported today that Leicester want to offer the tactician a new contract at the end of the season because they are worried he could buy himself out of the current deal.

Ranieri’s current deal runs until 2018, but the newspaper believes there is a termination clause inserted that could be activated by either the club or the manager.

This would’ve originally provided some security to the Leicester hierarchy in case Ranieri failed to impress, but they are now concerned the Italian could use it to leave himself, either for the Italy post or for a big European club.
