Lecce general manager Renato Cipollini confirms the club will “take 24-48 hours to decide” whether to sack Eusebio Di Francesco.
The Salentini fell to a 4-2 defeat against Napoli on Saturday evening, leaving them bottom of the table with just eight points.
“We will take 24-48 hours to decide and reflect deeply on the situation,” revealed Cipollini on Sky Sport Italia.
“We need to evaluate how we can lift the team back up, a side that in our view has the quality to stay in Serie A, albeit knowing we’ll have to suffer to the final round.”
When the general manager was asked what kind of Coach could come in to replace Di Francesco, he suggested the axe is already being sharpened.
“I won’t go into details of a potential new Coach, but if there will be one then he’ll have a contract to the end of the season.
“We deserved to lose tonight, even if we had a few good moments. We did create something good in attack.”
