Silvio Berlusconi is reportedly considering the possibility of candidating Lazio President Claudio Lotito as mayor of Rome.
Berlusconi's influence within major right-wing party Forza Italia would allow him to recruit Lotito among his ranks.
The pair, who already know each other from football, would be able to mount a political campaign to take the reins of the capital, alongside right-wing politician Franco Frattini.
