Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is still struggling to find the magic he produced last season, and one reason could be due to his contract situation with Napoli, Corriere dello Sport claim.

The 22-year-old Georgian winger was one of the stars of the show in the Campania capital last season, scoring 14 goals and providing 17 assists across 43 appearances.

Whilst Kvaratskhelia shined for a large part of the season, he began to slow down in the final few months, managing no goals and just one assist in Napoli’s last 11 games of the Serie A campaign.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport via Calciomercato.com, Kvaratskhelia’s agent Mamuka Jugeli was present at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona yesterday, watching Napoli’s frustrating 2-1 loss to Lazio.

He was there to meet with president Aurelio De Laurentiis but this didn’t occur, with the agent instead being in contact with chief scout Maurizio Micheli. This meant no progress was made in contract talks and Jugeli left with Kvaratskhelia for Georgia.

The 22-year-old winger’s current contract expires in 2027 and is worth around €1.4m net per season, so his entourage is pushing for a new deal with a salary of around €5m net plus add-ons.
