Justin Kluivert claims he joined Roma to improve himself as a player, explaining he left his comfort zone at Ajax.
Kluivert moved to Roma from Ajax last summer and has gone on to start just 11 times in Serie A, although the Netherlands winger bagged two assists against Fiorentina on Wednesday.
“My father [Patrick] still gives me advice, of course, and it’s all geared towards my growth as a professional,” the 19-year-old told Tuttosport.

“As a player he reached a level that I’m still far away from. I process every suggestion with my head and then forge a personal opinion.
“I realised I could have a career in football when I had my first training with Ajax. That also meant being able to keep my feet on the ground.
“But when I started working with the players in the first team, I knew that I’d got on par with them.
“It was my dream to train and play at the top. We must always have a dream to follow.
“Italian football is more tactical than the Dutch one, with particular attention to all phases of the game.
“As a result, training is also slightly different. Overall I can say that in Italy it’s tougher, but it’s also one of the reasons why I came here.”
