England captain Harry Kane admits ‘it would be great to beat’ Italy at Wembley this evening, gaining some revenge for the EURO 2020 Final.

It kicks off at Wembley Stadium at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT).

This was the venue where the two teams met for the EURO 2020 Final, which was actually played in the summer of 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Italy took the trophy home by winning on penalties after a 1-1 draw on the field.

“Of course there are some memories there, especially in this stadium but we just have to focus on tonight,” Kane told Channel 4 when asked if the England team felt the need for revenge.

“It would be great to beat them here at Wembley obviously, but in football you move on and focus on the next challenge and tonight it is about getting qualification for the next Euros.”

A point would be enough to qualify England for the tournament, while a victory would put Italy joint top of the group with the Three Lions.

Ukraine also visit Malta this evening, so in theory there could be three teams all on 13 points by the end of play.
