Daniele Rugani had been tipped to start for Juventus against Hellas Verona, but pulled out with a bout of gastroenteritis.
The Serie A match kicks off at the Stadio Bentegodi at 17.00 UK time (16.00 GMT).
Rugani was expected to be in the starting XI, allowing Leonardo Bonucci to rest ahead of the Champions League.
However, the centre-back came down with a fever and stomach bug this afternoon, prompting him to leave the training retreat early.
A statement from the Juventus website confirmed Rugani is unavailable for today’s match due to gastroenteritis.
Max Allegri already has to do without injured Federico Chiesa, Moise Kean, Mattia De Sciglio and Aaron Ramsey for the tricky trip to Hellas Verona.
Juve picked up just one point from the last two Serie A games, drawing 1-1 away to Inter and losing 2-1 at home to Sassuolo.

This is good news. Man is a calamity at the back. Juve’s worst defender of the last 10 years.
Verona are going to embarrass them further or make life so hard for this pub club.
