According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, the Bianconeri are currently looking for alternative solutions that would allow them to sign Pjanic without a full €38m payment.
Specifically, sporting director Beppe Marotta is attempting to negotiate a deal that would involve an exchange of players rather than a pure cash transaction.
It remains to be seen whether Roma would accept anything other than cash for Pjanic, as they currently need to make a profit on their transfer market in order to meet the Financial Fair Play requirements.
