Parma have revealed why they pulled out of the deal to sign Jonathan from Italian giants Inter this month.
An agreement for the player’s loan was reached between the two clubs, but the Brazilian’s hesitation didn’t go down well with the Tardini outfit.
“I would like to thank Inter for their availability and we successfully negotiated a deal,” Gialloblu director Pietro Leonardi noted.
“However, we as a club don’t accept players who are not convinced that they want to wear our colours.
“Those individuals who take more than two days to think about joining us or not are not suitable for our reality.”
Jonathan, 25, is a former Cruzeiro and Santos player who arrived in Italy over the summer with a reputation as potentially being the new Douglas Maicon.
However, the Brazilian has struggled for action having played just four games in Serie A and two in the Champions League.
