Italy name their 23-man squad for the Confederations Cup tomorrow, as it’s rumoured Andrea Ranocchia and Giacomo Bonaventura are among those dropped.

Cesare Prandelli made his evaluations after Friday’s 4-0 friendly win over San Marino, which saw Atalanta midfielder Bonaventura and Cagliari forward Marco Sau feature.

Neither impressed enough to earn a flight to Brazil this summer, according to Italian papers, and Cagliari goalkeeper Michael Agazzi will also return home.

Pablo Daniel Osvaldo has already been ruled out due to disciplinary reasons, as he breached the code of ethics by insulting Roma Coach Aurelio Andreazzoli.

Ranocchia of Inter, Cagliari’s Davide Astori and Sampdoria midfielder Andrea Poli also run the risk of being left behind.

On Monday Antonio Candreva, Federico Marchetti and Daniele De Rossi will join the Azzurri, having been given an extra week off after they took part in the Roma-Lazio Coppa Italia Final.

Italy travel to Prague for Friday’s World Cup qualifier against the Czech Republic, then go to Brazil for the Confederations Cup from June 15-30.
