Italy Coach Roberto Mancini has reportedly asked Napoli’s Brazilian midfielder Allan to switch allegiances to the Azzurri.
According to Sky Sport Italia and TV Luna commentator Carlo Alvino, the Nazionale are eager to snap up the 27-year-old.
It seems he has a distant Italian relative that would make him eligible for a passport.
Allan has been in Italy since 2012 for Udinese, then joined Napoli for €11.5m in the summer of 2015.
Although the midfielder was given five caps for Brazil at Under-20 level, he was otherwise ignored.
