Italy could play Juventus’ Federico Bernardeschi as a false nine against Greece on Saturday.
Tuttosport reports CT Roberto Mancini tried out Bernardeschi in the role, with Federico Chiesa and Lorenzo Insigne either side of him.
Mancini previously used the 25-year-old in such a position against Poland last October, when Italy came away with a 1-0 win at the death.
However, the former Fiorentina attacker was replaced by Kevin Lasagna, who went on to assist Cristiano Biraghi for the winner.
