Simone Inzaghi felt Lazio “should’ve taken the lead” at San Siro, but defensive errors cost them in a 2-0 defeat to Milan.

“In the first half I saw an excellent Lazio side that played as a team,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

“We should’ve taken the lead, but instead we conceded a silly goal. We tried to recover the situation, but weren’t as organised after the break.

“In the first half I saw an excellent Lazio side that played as a team,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

“We should’ve taken the lead, but instead we conceded a silly goal. We tried to recover the situation, but weren’t as organised after the break.

“We came here and made Milan play badly, as I don’t think they had a single slick passing move. We played with character, but still lost.”

Felipe Anderson and Keita Balde Diao came on at half-time, so does Inzaghi regret not starting them?

“No, I wouldn’t change my starting XI. We played very well, but in a game like this you cannot afford to concede a goal so cheaply.

“We came to San Siro with character, so I am happy with the performance, albeit regret the result. It was an important match and we lost.”
