Filippo Inzaghi praises Benevento despite a 2-1 home defeat against Napoli: ‘Gattuso can win the Scudetto.’
“I am proud of my lads, they did something extraordinary,” the former Milan striker told Dazn.
“That’s the right mentality, we never gave up. We made a great effort and I tried to help the team in the second half. Maybe we would have deserved a draw.
“Only a miracle can save you when you play against these teams and we went close to doing it.

“They beat Juventus last season and I am happy because I see a team that make big sides struggle. It happened against Roma and today.
“These games must help us to grow but we always hope we can bring points home, we had our chances and we forced Napoli to celebrate as they had beaten a top club.
“We conceded a goal when we were down to ten men as [Gaetano] Letizia was out with an injury. Napoli could throw in big players from the bench.
“If you want to do a miracle in these games you have to give it all and hope they are not at their best. But even if they are, they can still sub in players like [Andrea] Petagna and [Matteo] Politano. My players deserve the praise of our fans it must boost our self-confidence.”
Inzaghi faced Gattuso after the many years they spent together as Milan players.
“A coach must always improve and never stop learning. Gattuso and I coach two different teams, I can say they can win the Serie A title. When you sign player like Victor Osimhen for a big fee it means you are a big club. I wish Rino all the best.
“I think everyone is afraid of Benevento and that’s important for us. I knew we had to be perfect, [Lorenzo] Insigne scored a great goal, these players are champions and champions decide games.”
