“All us Milanisti want to get back on track. This is another great opportunity and I hope this is the turning point,” said the Coach in a Press conference.
“I believe only a victory, with a good performance, can get us going again. There’s a long way to go this season and a win could spark our enthusiasm. I hope it can be the right moment at last.”
There had been reports Inzaghi would change system and drop Jeremy Menez for this game.
“I don’t know where these things come from. Tomorrow I will decide the line-up and send them out, I hope, in the ideal manner for our characteristics.
“In the last three games we played with three attacking players. We have many choices up front. We adopted this system with two strikers and we’re sticking to it.
“Alex needs to be evaluated and if he’s able to grit his teeth through the pain, then he can start. At the back we only have two full-backs and three central defenders.
“We’ve lost so many players over the last few months and that took away our identity. The objective is to give back that identity to the team. We must rediscover that enthusiasm we had until the end of December.
“I don’t think it’s right to aim criticism at the work we are doing. We have television cameras filming our training sessions and you can see how hard we work. We’re prepared to let all the reporters in to see what we do.
“Playing at San Siro, especially when things aren’t going well, is not easy. The fans have been patient thus far and we must put what we do in training in to a match situation. The best medicine is a victory.
“To save the season we must get back to playing like Milan, rediscovering confidence and courage. We need to win the right way. We have to win back the fans with actions rather than words.
“The President and Adriano Galliani have always been close to me. They believe in me as a man and in my work. They too understood that the many injuries penalised us, but we should’ve done more anyway.”
