“Atalanta are an organised side who will try to make the most of counter-attacks. Considering the way we are training, I am optimistic,” he said in a Press conference.
“Tomorrow we must win and set the scene to get more points in the second half of the season. We can only get better.
“I retain San Siro must become our fortress. It’s a big test tomorrow, because so far we’ve struggled with this type of game on home turf. We need to give consistency to our results.
“We’re coming off a good Coppa Italia performance and are improving, even if we’ve lost Cristian Zapata and Mattia De Sciglio for two months. I want to see the spirit we had before Christmas.”
Inzaghi is under fire after a stuttering start to 2015 and there are reports Arrigo Sacchi will be drafted in as his mentor.
“Sacchi’s visit had been planned for some time and was a great chance to exchange ideas. Sacchi is a Milan man and any role he’d take within the club would be something for us to be proud of.
“I have an excellent rapport with Arrigo. I know he’d like to work with young players, so I’d be very happy if he came to help us out.
“It’s normal to be in the spotlight, as the Coach of a club like Milan will always be under pressure. Just like President Berlusconi, I want to take Milan back to the top, but it requires patience.
“After a difficult week we gave a strong response on Tuesday, deserving Coppa Italia qualification against Sassuolo. The President called after the draw with Torino to reassure me.
“We need to do much better, but we are on the right track. Anyone who loves Milan must give us a helping hand, as we need everyone to build us back up again.
“I feel the club has faith in me and so does the team. I am sure of my ideas and my style of football, so I’ll keep working.”
