Lazio Coach Simone Inzaghi says tomorrow’s Inter game is “important, but not decisive for the table”.

The Biancocelesti visit San Siro tomorrow, and can move to within a point of the Beneamata if they win.

“It will be an important race, but not decisive for the table,” Inzaghi explained in his pre-match Press conference.

“It’s very important for us though. We know we’re facing a strong team, and we’ll have to be at 1— per cent to get a positive result.

“The lads are prepared. Inter have lost their last three games, but they’re going through a physiological decline, as has happened to all the other teams.

“It happened to us, to Juve and to Napoli. Inter have quality and I really respect Spalletti.

“So far the lads have been extraordinary, we qualified for the next stage of the Europa League with two games to spare, we’re in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals and we’re up there with the great teams in the league.

“We’ve done well, but the competitions go on and the league will end in May.

“After the winter break we’ll have a match every four days, it will become even more difficult. We’ve dropped points in some unexpected ways, so our ranking could be even better, but we don’t look back.

“I repeat, this game is not decisive. There are 19 games to go after this. That said, we’re facing a team that’s ahead of us, and we want to remain on the attack, we’re still up there despite everything.

“We want to play as Lazio, when we do that we rarely go wrong.

“Inter have experienced a decline like everyone else, we’ll find a wounded team but they’ll have to get past Lazio and we won’t give up easily.”

Inzaghi was then asked what he feared most about the Nerazzurri.

“The quality of their players. There will be a great stadium for both teams, because I know a lot of people are coming up from Rome and they’ll make themselves heard. We need to play 90 important minutes.

“Mauro Icardi or Ciro Immobile? We’re talking about the two strongest at the moment, along with [Gonzalo] Higuain.

“We know them well, Icardi has always scored in recent weeks, apart from against Sassuolo, and we need to keep him at bay because we know he can strike at any moment.

“[Ivan] Perisic and [Antonio] Candreva are also great players but we know what we’re going to face. We’ve prepared well.

“Inter are a team with unpredictable wingers, but we’ve prepared for that. We’ll have to make sure we don’t concede too many crosses and that we mark well.”
