The newspaper reports that the two clubs have been in contact over the possible sale of Mateo Kovacic and suggests that Lucas could enter negotiations.

However, the outlet believes that Inter will want to keep the two deals separate as the club are holding out for €30m for the Croatian midfielder.

Lucas’ experience on the European and international stage is believed to be a draw for the Nerazzurri, as well as his familiarity playing in a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 formation.

With Imbula “99 per cent” certain to join Porto, Lucas has reportedly been targeted as a Plan B, although Galatasaray’s Felipe Melo remains an option.
