Inter have reportedly decided to target the signing of Club Brugge winger and Canada international Tajon Buchanan in the January transfer window according to updates on Thursday evening.

As per Gianluca Di Marzio, the Nerazzurri would like to bring in another option out wide to compete with and eventually replace summer recruit Juan Cuadrado on the right-hand side.

Inter and Buchanan are already relatively familiar with one another, as the club had made contact over a potential transfer just after the world cup last year.

Back then, a deal would have likely cost Inter somewhere in the region of €17m-€18m, however with the player’s contract now running down, that fee is set to be significantly reduced.

According to Di Marzio, Buchanan, whose current deal in Belgium is set to expire in 18 months’ time, has decided against penning a new contract and will look to leave Brugge in one of the next transfer windows.

With Club Brugge hoping to avoid losing him for next to nothing next season, Inter hope to bring Buchanan to San Siro for a fee of around €7m-€8m in January.

Inter must now reportedly convince Steven Zhang to authorise the move in the upcoming transfer window.

There are currently no plans to strengthen the squad in the striker positions, according to Thursday’s updates.
