Romelu Lukaku scored his first-ever Serie A goal against Lecce almost three years ago and will hope to have a similar start at the Stadio Via Del Mare tonight.
The Belgian forward has returned to the Stadio Meazza after a disappointing season at Chelsea under Thomas Tuchel.
Lukaku failed to justify his €113m price tag, scoring only 15 goals in 44 appearances at Stamford Bridge. He will start in Inter’s attack against Lecce tonight, hoping to imitate his ‘first’ debut with the Serie A giants almost three years ago.
Lukaku got his name on the scoresheet in a 4-0 win over the Giallorossi at the Stadio Meazza on August 27, 2019. It was Antonio Conte’s first official game in charge of the Nerazzurri and Lukaku’s first-ever match in Serie A.
The 29-year-old went on to score 64 goals in 95 appearances during his two-year spell with the Nerazzurri before last summer’s move to Chelsea.
Only took what, 90 sec, for him to score against Lecce in tonight’s match. This is what has me worried, Inter might be unstoppable this year.
