Tuttomercatoweb reports Inter boss Luciano Spalletti decided to scrap their rest day, with the side having picked up just one point from their opening two games.
That was later confirmed by Matteo Politano, who told Inter TV after the visit of Toro: “There’s so much regret, given we played some great football in the first half.
”We didn’t react well in the second half, and we can’t afford to do that because we’re Inter. We’re sorry about how everything went.
“Different formation? We started with a 3-4-2-1 to stay closer to Icardi and then switched to a 4-2-3-1. However, it’s not an issue of formation. Unfortunately, we didn’t do well in the second half.
“Now we have to bounce back at Bologna, picking up from where we left off in the first half, and from Monday we’ll try to understand what didn’t go well in the second half.
“My first match at San Siro? At first I was very excited about it, but then those feelings dissipated. It’s a shame that we didn’t take the three points.
“I also had a headed chance in the first half, which I could’ve done better from.”
