Speculation is that the Nerazzurri are leading the way in attempts to bring the Italian international back to Serie A, just six months after his move to the Saints last summer.

Whilst the Premier League outfit are reported as unconvinced over recent attempts from interested parties to sign their forward, reports in Italy indicate a representative from Inter is flying out to England today to ‘do everything possible’ to try and land the 27-year-old.

Inter are seen to be keen on an initial loan deal for the former Roma man, with a purchase option in place for the end of the season.

Fiorentina are also listed in reports today as representing competition to La Beneamata for Osvaldo, who is described as open to a return to the peninsula.
