Inter have reportedly reopened talks with Mehdi Taremi and his entourage as they explore a possible free transfer next summer.

The Nerazzurri were interested in making a move for the 31-year-old Iranian striker in the summer after they decided not to bring back Romelu Lukaku. Porto were not interested in losing Taremi and were not willing to lower their requests, pushing Inter to switch focus elsewhere.

After much interest in the summer, Taremi ultimately remained with Porto for this season. His current contract expires at the end of the season and no new deal has been agreed yet, meaning he could find a new club in January.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio has taken a personal interest in the deal and contacted Taremi’s entourage to start exploring the striker’s intentions ahead of January.

The Nerazzurri sporting director made it clear that the club would be very interested in making a move should the 31-year-old decide to leave Porto on a free transfer next summer.
