New Coach Andrea Stramaccioni makes his debut tomorrow, but there’s already talk of Inter making a pact with Athletic Bilbao boss Marcelo Bielsa.
The Nerazzurri started the campaign with Gian Piero Gasperini, then axed Claudio Ranieri this week to promote Stramaccioni from the Primavera youth team.
However, the Gazzetta dello Sport maintains there is already a ‘pact’ with Bielsa to take over next season.
This agreement would include Inter signing at least two key players from his Athletic Bilbao side, namely 23-year-old Andere Iturraspe and 22-year-old Oscar de Marcos.
Other potential wish-list items are striker Iker Munian and wide man Susaeta.
Bielsa had been the number one option for the Inter bench when Leonardo walked away last summer, but turned down the job because he was committed to Athletic.
This is why the Nerazzurri are now starting negotiations very early in a bid to tempt the former Chile manager over to San Siro.
Spanish media also suggest, though, that Bielsa is wanted by Barcelona as the heir to Pep Guardiola.
