Inter are preparing a summer assault for Sassuolo pair Gianluca Scamacca and Davide Frattesi, with the former also being linked to rivals Milan.
Scamacca has been one of the stars of the Neroverdi’s season so far and he has attracted attention from across Europe, but he does not want to leave Italy. The 23-year-old rejected the interest of Borussia Dortmund, who were ready to pay €40m for him, because of his desire to remain in Serie A.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter CEO Beppe Marotta is preparing to start work to sign both Scamacca and Frattesi from Sassuolo, an operation that requires careful planning ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Nerazzurri are ready to pay the 23-year-old Italian forward €2.5m net per season, six times more than he earns in Emilia, but the biggest obstacle blocking a deal is the player’s price tag. Sassuolo want €40m and Inter will try to include Andrea Pinamonti and Lorenzo Pirola in the deal in order to lower the overall price.
Corriere dello Sport also suggest that Inter may look to sign the 22-year-old Frattesi in this month’s transfer window, although they’ll have to work fast as the market closes on Monday next week.
Milan are also interested in Scamacca and have been following him for some time now, but they are unlikely to make a move for him in the summer due to his €40m price tag, something that they’re not willing to pay for a single player.

It is reported widely that Scamacca wants to join Inter. So, basically for Milan, it is not an issue of money only, but the willingness of the player. He said no to Dortmund, Arsenal and Milan. This is the biggest weapon that Inter has got. The preference of the player.
Inter once again coming in with the consolation prize. Scamacca still has loads to prove.
@Frankie, the only prize that matters is the trophy won at the end of the season.
@ Frankie – meeeeeowwwwww!!!!
Not getting the scamacca hype. Looks like an average talent at best.
If he wasn’t Italian there wouldn’t be any hype around him and his price would be 50% lower.
£80M spent on one player. That cash should have been used on 2-3 quality midfielders and a new left back. The pub team of Europe and whipping boys of CL finals (7/9) never learn lol.
