Inter have confirmed that Stevan Jovetic will not be returning to Sevilla after they failed to meet the Nerazzurri’s asking price.
Jovetic’s loan to Sevilla included a purchase option set at €14m, but the Andalusians were only willing to offer €10m and Suning Group technical co-ordinator Walter Sabatini made it clear the Beneamata were not prepared to lower their demands.
“No and no,” he told ABC de Sevilla.
“We haven’t accepted their offer, I’ve just told them. The amount isn’t enough, there’s no agreement on these figures.”
His agent Fali Ramadani added: “In a way, I understand Inter. They included a purchase option.
“But suddenly, at some point, they should tell their fans that they’ll lower their demands for a player that has a lot of market potential.
“There’s no logic. I spoke with Sabatini and it was clear. Sevilla can’t raise their offer? Well, that’s it then. It’s football and there’s no shortage of offers for Stevan.
“He said he’d have liked to stay at Sevilla, but he also knows that it’s impossible if there’s no agreement between the clubs.
“When he arrived at Sevilla, Stevan decided to take a 15 percent pay cut in order to make the move happen.
“And now, if he goes back to Inter, he’ll want that 15% back. I say this because I want people to know.
“Jovetic has received many offers, but I wanted to wait to see how the negotiations with Sevilla would end.
“The deal was complicated because Sevilla wanted to reduce the cost of the transfer fee and his salary.
“Where do these offers come from? English, German, French and Spanish teams. It’s a shame that for economic reasons, Jovetic can’t stay at Sevilla.”
