Inter have identified a ‘low cost’ alternative attacker in the event that Joaquin Correa leaves San Siro this summer according to recent reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport.

La Gazzetta claims that the vast majority of Inter’s transfer activity for the summer has already been completed. The Nerazzurri are waiting to welcome Marko Arnautovic in attack, but after that, there are only positions in defence that need addressing.

However, there is still a possibility that Correa moves on before the end of the transfer window, and if that were to be the case, Inter could welcome back one of their former players to bolster Simone Inzaghi’s options up front.

La Gazzetta claims that Alexis Sanchez, who is currently a free agent, could be of interest to Inter once more.

The former Barcelona, Arsenal and Manchester United winger spent three years at San Siro between 2019 and 2022, initially joining on loan for the 2019-20 season, before signing permanently the following summer.

The Chilean turns 35 years old in December, but contributed with 14 goals from 35 appearances in Ligue 1 last season.

That said, La Gazzetta also makes it clear that it is increasingly likely that Correa stays on with Inter, which would lessen the priority to bring in another attacking option.
