It has been clear for some time that Denzel Dumfries will be sold this summer, as Inter look to Manchester United or Aston Villa to splash the cash for the Dutch international.
The Nerazzurri have long suffered from financial problems, but have been able to balance the books by selling on players at huge profits.
The most recent last summer was Andre Onana, who was signed as a free agent and sold on to Manchester United for over €50m.
With his contract set to expire in June 2025 and negotiations for a renewal at a standstill, it is no secret that Dumfries is on the way out this summer.
He was purchased from PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2021 for €14.25m and Inter hope to sell at a price-tag of circa €40m.
According to FCInterNews.it, newspaper Il Giorno and website Tuttomercatoweb, Bayern Munich are no longer interested after securing Sacha Boey in January.
They therefore look to Manchester United and Aston Villa as the most likely to invest in the right-back.
Dumfries has already dropped down the pecking order this season, with two goals and four assists in 20 competitive games, and his replacement was snapped up in the form of Canada international Tajon Buchanan.
‼️ La trattativa per il rinnovo è ad un punto morto, probabile che in estate le strade debbano separarsi, vista anche la scadenza del contratto nel giugno 2025 ⬇️⚫🔵 pic.twitter.com/dGIx09p9FE
