Inter are looking to beat out their competition for Marcus Thuram and have travelled to Qatar to try and iron out a deal.
The Nerazzurri are desperate to improve their attack in the upcoming January transfer window and have identified the 25-year-old Frenchman as the right option. Thuram’s contract expires with Borussia Monchengladbach at the end of this season and a number of clubs around Europe are keen to pick him up.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio and vice president Javier Zanetti have travelled to Qatar to personally meet with Thuram’s entourage. The first meeting will take place after France’s opener at the World Cup tomorrow.
Monchengladbach have already accepted that the 25-year-old will leave soon and are willing to let him go in January for €10m, figures that the Nerazzurri can easily meet with the sales of Roberto Gagliardini and Robin Gosens.
Inter plan to offer Thuram a contract worth around €5m net per season and are confident a deal can be agreed.
