According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Simone Inzaghi has picked André Onana for today’s match against Sassuolo, so the ex-Ajax goalkeeper will make his Serie A debut with the Nerazzurri.

It’s a big change for the Serie A giants, who had alternated their two shot-stoppers in league and cup games this term.

Handanovic has started every Serie A match so far, while Onana was involved in the three Champions League group stage games against Bayern Munich, Viktoria Plzen and Barcelona.

According to Gazzetta, the hierarchy could change now as Handanovic will go to the bench against Sassuolo with Onana between the sticks.

The Nerazzurri are desperate for a win as they lost two consecutive matches in Serie A before Tuesday’s victory against Barcelona in the Champions League.

Onana conceded two goals in three European games, while Handanovic conceded 13 in eight Serie A matches.

Onana joined Inter as a free agent in the summer, signing a contract until 2027.
