Inter director Piero Ausilio is having a productive trip in London and reportedly contacted Arsenal to discuss the parameters of a deal for Folarin Balogun.

The Nerazzurri are looking to strengthen their attack this summer and have identified a number of possible options. On the outgoing market, Joaquin Correa could be sold with interest coming from Turkey and Edin Dzeko could also depart as his contract enters its final weeks.

One player who stood out in the 2022-23 season was Balogun. The 21-year-old American spent the campaign with Stade Reims on loan, where he scored 21 goals in 37 Ligue 1 appearances, attracting the attention of clubs across Europe.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter director Ausilio decided to contact Arsenal to explore a possible move for Balogun during his trip to London.

The Nerazzurri need to finish the upcoming summer transfer window with a positive balance of €50-60m, making it difficult to spend heavily, so they’d like to sign the American striker on loan.

Arsenal, however, are less keen on this idea and would prefer to sell Balogun for around €40m, giving them the resources necessary to close out a deal for West Ham talisman Declan Rice.
