Genoa have paved the way for Inter to complete the January signing of Ezequiel Schelotto from Atalanta.
The port club had joined the race to net the Argentine-born Italian international, thus interfering with the Nerazzurri’s plans to net him.
However, Genoa have withdrawn their interest which has left the Beneamata in a strong position to sign the 23-year-old.
Although there is still a difference between what Inter are offering and what Atalanta want in terms of a fee, a deal is expected to be completed before the window closes.
Inter could convince the Bergamo-based outfit to do a deal by including youth team striker Marko Livaja in the negotiations.
