The hit mafia drama is based on the Neapolitan mafia, the Camorra, and the latest two episodes been made available early on Sky’s ‘on demand’ service’ so it doesn’t clash with the Juventus game.

Ahead of the match, Gazzetta dello Sport interviewed one of the show’s stars, who is a fan of the Partenopei.

“Who would be good in Gomorrah?” Esposito, who plays Gennaro Savastano, considered.

“Insigne, definitely. He would be a good parakeet for Genny…”

The actor then discussed the match, which he’ll be watching from a hotel in California.

“Napoli have greater conviction now. And most importantly, I think the the gap with Juve isn't there any more, as evidenced this year. The Bianconeri can be beaten with our play and a bit of luck.

“Maurizio Sarri? He’s a maestro of football, if Napoli play as well as the top two or three teams in Europe, despite not having a top European squad, it means he’s done a great job.

“Sarri is the boss, he’s Don Pietro [another Gomorrah character].”

Esposito famously called Gonzalo Higuain “a poor man” after he left for Juventus, and Pipita may miss the game with a hand injury.

“As a sportsman I can see why he went to Juve, but as a Napoli fan? No.

“Until two weeks before he was beating his hand on his chest under the Curva and singing… only we fans do those things, and we believe.

“Higuain’s a great player though, there’s no denying that, so it’s better if he’s not there.”
