“I was proud and happy to be called up. It's a good thing I'm here, and now I'm going to give it my all.
“Compared to Brazil this is a different training camp. Every Coach has his own way of working. In Brazil we worked a lot on getting used to the environment, while here we're doing more on tactics and working as a group. Conte wants us to be compact and clear-minded.
“I'm finding no problem in adapting to the role of supporting striker. At the level we're at, I don't think anyone should have an issue about covering different positions. I want to lend a hand to my teammates and what matters isn't the role but the effort.”
The 25-year-old was then asked for his thoughts on Monday night's rival, Belgium.
“Belgium are a great team with many champions. There are players like [Eden] Hazard and [Kevin] De Bruyne. I'm in good terms with [Dries] Mertens, although we're rivals for our spot. He's very strong too, but we've got a chance against everyone.
“We're going to attack them, because they're not very compact in defence. We're doing some specific training to trouble them that way. They're strong when coming forwards, but so are we.”
