Mauro Icardi is starting to give Napoli serious consideration and reports are growing Inter could take Lorenzo Insigne as part of the exchange.
Nerazzurri director Beppe Marotta confirmed on Saturday that “Icardi and Radja Nainggolan are not part of our plans” for this coming season.
Juventus had until now been the only contenders for Icardi, but Napoli suddenly surged with impressive proposals including a reported €10m per year salary and €60m transfer fee.
According to the Corriere dello Sport, Icardi’s wife and agent Wanda Nara is already looking at homes in Naples.
Meanwhile, Tuttosport suggest the most likely way of fitting Icardi into Napoli while balancing the books would be to send Insigne to Inter in exchange.
Insigne is the captain and hometown hero, but has an increasingly fractious rapport with some sections of the fanbase.
Considering these issues and his huge salary, it is possible Napoli could part with Insigne in order to bring in Icardi.
