Atalanta captain Rafael Toloi has been ruled out of Wednesday’s Champions League clash against Manchester United with an adductor injury.
The Italy international limped off the pitch during La Dea’s Serie A clash against Empoli on Sunday.
ANSA reports that the exams underwent by the 31-year-old this morning highlighted an adductor injury. Therefore Toloi won’t be available at Old Trafford.
Toloi had just returned to action, having missed the match against Milan before the break.
Due to an injury at his femoral biceps and flexor, he also sat out Italy’s games against Spain and Belgium in the Nations League.
Atalanta meet Manchester United at Old Trafford on Wednesday at 20.00 UK time.
The Serie A giants are the Group F leaders with four points in two games.
They picked up a draw away at Villareal and beat Young Boys 2-1 in Bergamo.
The Red Devils beat Villareal but lost against Young Boys, so they have three points in two games.
