Ciro Immobile is back training with the Lazio squad, but is likely to be rested against Sassuolo to get him ready for Feyenoord, while Ivan Provedel is still struggling.
Both Italy internationals were forced to pull out of the squad for the EURO 2024 qualifiers against Malta and England due to injury.
Immobile is suffering from strained flexors in his thigh and today for the first time returned to normal training with the rest of his teammates.
However, having already missed the game with Atalanta, the centre-forward is likely to be rested for this weekend’s meeting with Sassuolo, instead starting Taty Castellanos.
The aim is to have Immobile fully recovered for the Champions League showdown with Feyenoord.
The situation around Provedel is a little more complex, as the goalkeeper is continuing to undergo treatment for a hip injury.
Luigi Sepe is tipped to take his place in Serie A against Sassuolo.
