The 32-year-old Romanian defender has suffered from numerous injury problems, but has been at San Siro for six seasons.
“Chivu has one more year left on his Inter contract,” agent Victor Becali told Digi Sport.
“If Mazzarri does not consider him necessary, then he should let him pick up the last pay cheque and send him home if he’s not needed.”
This term Chivu made only 10 Serie A appearances, 15 in all competition.
