“Finally I have been able to give my contribution to the team after injury. We are challenging for third place, then we’ll see at the end of the season.
“I didn’t know Roberto Mancini personally, but he has done well at every club, so I’m sure he’ll continue that trend with Inter too.
“I am also ready to put pen to paper on a new contract.”
Icardi has become perhaps more famous for off the field controversy than his goals, such as the feud with ex-teammate and ex-friend Maxi Lopez after marrying the forward’s ex-wife Wanda Nara.
“I don’t think about these things now. I think only that I have a splendid family and that soon my daughter Francesca will be born. That’s the best thing I could ask from 2015.”
There were reports before Christmas that the pair clashed again when Maxi Lopez picked his three children up from school, seemingly against the wishes of step-dad Icardi.
