Mauro Icardi admits Inter’s collapse at Hapoel Be’er-Sheva “has happened a few times, we struggle as soon as we concede a goal.”
The captain and Marcelo Brozovic had put them 2-0 up at half-time, but the Nerazzurri got deeper and deeper, eventually losing 3-2 after Samir Handanovic’s red card.
“It was a great Inter for the first 45 minutes, as we wanted to do well and achieved it until half-time,” Icardi told Inter Channel.

“The second half should be forgotten completely, as we played without character. This has happened a few times, as soon as we start sitting back and struggle the moment we concede a goal.
“We have to build on the strength of the group, from our work on the field, but also realise we have no more excuses. It’s almost Christmas and we haven’t had the results.
“If we play as a team, then we can do well. After that first half we should’ve won and now we go home with our heads bowed. Keep quiet and work hard, that’s what we have to do.”
