Neither Mauro Icardi nor Antonio Candreva are happy with their strong performances in the 1-1 against Palermo.
The two players both picked up applause from the fans, with the captain in particular scoring on one of only two chances he had throughout the game.
“Unfortunately this is not an important goal,” Icardi told Mediaset. “If you don't win, there are no important goals.
“Our condition of form cannot be an excuse. We played well and created very much, but we should have thrown the ball in.

“Over the week we worked well with the Coach, and today we were able to do what we'd practiced. Unfortunately the result came short of what we wanted.”
Vice president Javier Zanetti had previously reprimanded Icardi and asked him to watch his behaviour, but the club and the player seem at peace now, and a new contract with a buy-out clause for €110m will be signed in September.
“I'm relaxed. I have an agreement with the club, and I want to stay here, with these people and in this stadium. Anyway I'm great friends with Javier.”
The Biscione's new signing on the wing, Candreva, was also frustrated about the draw.
“We can't be happy,” he declared. “We're bitter and disappointed. I'm happy about my assist, as this is what I'm here for, but there's still a lot to be worked on.
“We have the utmost trust in Coach [Frank] De Boer. The fans applauded me? I didn't hear that, as the game was tense. But I'd like to thank them, we all wanted a different debut in front of our people. We'll return with greater drive.”
