Gonzalo Higuain could face Livorno on Sunday after they resumed training, while Paolo Cannavaro defends Napoli.
Higuain failed a fitness test just hours before the 2-0 Champions League defeat to Arsenal on Tuesday and was not even on the bench.
However, he resumed training today and appears to be healing from his muscular problem, though Raul Albiol is more in doubt after working in the gym.
“Higuain is a great champion, but we cannot think that we depend on him. For example, he didn’t play against Genoa and we still won,” said captain Cannavaro after criticism of their performance in London.
“A defeat can happen, there’s no need to make a drama out of it. The fans recognised our efforts and always help us. They made themselves heard in a stadium full of opposition supporters.
“We’ve got to be wary against Livorno, as we’ve already seen with Sassuolo how difficult a game like this can be. It requires the utmost concentration.”
The Partenopei drew 1-1 on home turf with newly promoted Sassuolo, who until that point had lost every Serie A match.
