According to news agency Ansa, this transfer has been in the works for some time.
It’s reported the talks began in June in Ibiza and Higuain had turned down an initial offer.
He then agreed terms with Juventus for a four-year contract worth €7.5m per season.
That decision was apparently made on July 13 in Madrid, where Pipita was on vacation after the Copa America.
If true, it means Napoli were not told about this situation until yesterday, when copies of his blood test form from the medical emerged.
There are reports Napoli believed Higuain would attend pre-season training at the Dimaro camp on Monday July 25, so were given no warning.
