Hertha Berlin are incredibly keen to bring Diego Demme back to Germany but talks with Napoli have stalled, reports detail.
The 31-year-old has entered the last year of his contract in the Campania capital and a new deal will not be offered, making this summer the last chance to sell the midfielder.
Demme hardly featured for Napoli in their Scudetto winning campaign, seeing just 142 minutes of action across seven Serie A appearances.
Corriere dello Sport via TMW details how Hertha have been working to try and bring Demme back to Germany and are close to agreeing personal terms with the midfielder, but talks with Napoli have stalled.
Partenopei president Aurelio De Laurentiis wants €6m for the German midfielder, a fee the Bundesliga side are not willing to pay, causing talks to stall.
Demme joined Napoli from RB Leipzig in January 2020 in a deal worth around €10.25m. Since his arrival, he’s made 89 appearances across all competitions, scoring five goals and providing four assists.
